My visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour
Just like Harry Potter I headed to Hogwarts for the first time ever on September the 1st, he went and joined the school, became part of Gryffindor and went on to do many, many great things and have lots of magical adventures over many books and films thanks to the incredible writing by J. K. Rowling. I on the other hand only got to explore the Warner Bros. London Harry Potter Studio Tour, dreaming about being part of that world, joining Ravenclaw and getting to go to a much better school than any I went to in my real life, but still had an amazing time!!!
The Studios Tour is located in Leavesden, Hertfordshire, near to Watford and is a must for any fans of the Harry Potter world or just with an interest in seeing behind the scenes of the making of some amazing films. I have been to places like Disneyland Paris where you walk around places inspired by films and cartoons, but at the Studio Tour you get to walk around the actual sets used for the films, see costumes and props that were actually used in the movies, even walk around that giant model of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which was the most impressive thing there, in fact the Hogwarts model is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen anywhere!
The Harry Potter world
I missed all the excitement when the first book: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released and it wasn’t until the first film adaptation was about to come out that I even heard about it. I decided to read the first book before seeing the film as it sounded like my sort of thing. The trailers were already out, so when I pictured Harry Potter in my head it was Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson was Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint was Ron Weasley, which was helpful when taking the leap between the book and the films. I always find it hard when you have read a book and built up mental pictures of the characters and then watch the movie and they have casted people who are very different to the ones you imagined. Since those days I have read every book, watched every film, including the Fantastic Beasts ones that are also based in the Harry Potter world and share some of the same characters.
The whole Harry Potter world has a lot of depth to it, even the four houses at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry have very different, well defined qualities! The four Hogwarts houses are:
She’s slightly out-of-step in many ways, but she’s the anti-Hermione. Hermione’s so logical and inflexible in so many ways and Luna is likely to believe ten impossible things before breakfast.
She is definitely my kind of person. The main Ravenclaw traits are: Intelligence, Wit, Wisdom, Creativity, Originality, Individuality and Acceptance, so I’m pretty sure the sorting hat would place me in Ravenclaw.
