About Eastbourne Gay Pride 2019
2019 was the third year for Eastbourne Pride and I have been lucky enough to be at all three.
This great annual LGBT event is held at Princes Park on Eastbourne seafront, opposite the Sovereign Centre.
A lot of the big Pride events have become very commercial and to me have lost a lot of the Pride feeling, becoming just big profit making festivals that happen to have rainbow flags as decoration. I prefer events like Eastbourne Pride and Hastings Pride, they are smaller, more friendly and they feel more about promoting LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) equality. Obviously as they are not about the big money then you don't get the big name stars performing, but that doesn't mean the entertainment isn't still great. If I had gone to Brighton Pride 2019 then the act I would have been most interested in seeing would have been Kylie Minogue. At Eastbourne Pride 2019 there were some really great acts, my favourite was "Almost Pink" an amazing Pink tribute act that was not only a great singer, but also a great performer who really got the crowd (me included) hyped up and having fun. I'd happily pay to see her perform again! The price for Eastbourne Pride 2019 wristbands? Nothing! Totally free!!! In the future I could see them having to make a small charge to cover the rising costs if they cannot get enough sponsors, but I'm sure it would be nothing like as much as the prices for ones like Brighton. I'm sorry for picking on Brighton Pride, I have had many great days there in the past.
The first part of Eastbourne Pride was a parade from the pier to Princes Park, sadly we got stuck in traffic and missed that this year, so I apologize for the lack of photos of that part.
The photo on the right is one of me taken by Janie Burgess, thank you for letting me use it.
If you have a problem with my gender (genderfluid) or sexuality (pansexual), then you have a problem, not me and I'd advise moving along to a different website!
Date of the event: 20th of July 2019
This years theme: Flower Power Swinging 60s
Please read this!

As always I wish I didn't have to, but I still feel I should point out that all it means if you recognise somebody in one of these photos is that they were in Princes Park on the same day as Eastbourne Pride, they may be LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or anything else associated with LGBT), they may be straight, but support LGBT people, they may have just heard music and wondered in to see what was going on!
It says nothing about their gender or sexuality.
I am out, I am a genderfluid pansexual, but some people are unable to come out for various reasons, please do not ever out anybody!!!
These photos may be used for any non profit, non hate purposes! I was there to do non profit freelance photography for this site and my Facebook page, not there as an official photographer for this event, but have supplied copies of the photos to the organisers who have used my photos for things in the past.
